Down to (B) and (C), it’s cool if (B) is selected by instinct. But, it’s even cooler if (B) is selected because we see how the sentence ends with a description, which is why a comma is warranted.
When the words are the same, an option with a semicolon and an option with a period should classically be grammatically identical. Striking out options is a great way to see your thought process manifest itself physically. Having CONCRETE reasons for why we use commas is the mark of a master test taker. And, though we basically put building vocabulary last, depending on what Path you’re on, some more building is warranted.
